Located in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka State, Gokarna is an ancient temple town and centre for Sanskrit studies. Gokarna Beach is the town’s main beach in Gokarna and pilgrims mostly gather after visiting the Mahabaleshwar Temple. The Kudle Beach is the largest of the five beaches. The most famous is Om Beach with beautiful coastline forming the shape of the Hindu symbol Om.

How to Get to Gokarna

By Air: The nearest airport is Goa.

By Rail: The Gokarna Train station is around 8 km from the town. It is well connected by railways with the nearest stations being Kumta and Ankola, 35km and 20 km away respectively. Other stations that offer better connectivity with Gokarna include Mangalore, Margao, Hubli and Karwar.

By Road: Gokarna can be reached by road from places such as Mangalore, Banglore and Karwar. There are regular buses that ply between these cities that connect Gokarna.
