Mukteshwar, a famous pilgrimage and tourist destination in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India. Perched at the height of 2286 meters amidst the famous Kumaon Hills and in the midst of the Garhwal Mountains. It is 51 kilometers from Nainital, 72 km from Haldwani, and 343 km from Delhi. Mukteshwar name is derived from the 350 year old Lord Shiva’s temple Mukteshwar Dham which is the famous tourist attraction .This temple carries its own religious and cultural significance. The temple is located atop a hill, some 2,312 meters above the sea level and act as a nice trekking option for visitors.

Uttarakhand is considered as the heart of the Indian pilgrimage circuit deluged with the innumerable pilgrimage sites. Mukteshwar is one of the famous pilgrimage sites, a place ideal for mediation retreat.

It was developed by the Britishers in 1893.This sleepy hamlet is adorned with the style and architecture which brings the reminiscences of British Raj. The scenery around Mukteshwar is breathtaking.
